Larger Than Life

The car was originally slated for a 1989 release, however, Shromet Engineers kept piling on more ambitious engineering goals, including a continuously variable transmission, flat-floor design, and aerodynamic body CAD and CNC design. The netizen project famously cost over 2 billion USD in R&D. While the Netizen was a sales success, it took time to recuperate such massive R&D costs.
