“The 1992 Dragon drags the muscle car kicking and screaming into the modern age” – Car & Driver , Sept. 1992
America’s Techo-Muscle Evolution.
While on the surface, the Dragon seemed to be quite similar to the previous gen, riding on the same platform, underneath there were a slew of technical changes, including an all-new, all aluminum 5.4L V8 which was Shromet bespoke, double wishbone suspension in the front and the rear, and an advanced new onboard computer which controlled many items on the car, such as the air suspension, power seats, and traction control system. All of this lead to Car & Driver naming the Dragon as “One of the best handling FWD vehicles… ever.”

Wired intelligence, for the open road.
With a more attractive price, more technical features, and the success of other models like the Mystic and Netizen helped present the Shromet brand as an advanced, prestigious choice for technologically-minded buyers, luring the younger demographics away from import brands. The 1992 Dragon was a landmark vehicle Shromet and is considered one of the most important in the company’s history.
